Fort Collins, CO – A Fort Collins smoke shop is ignoring a Larimer County order to close down, with the owner saying, “The government can’t decide what’s good for me…”
According to the Coloradoan, Larimer County officials ordered the smoke shop, One Love, to close down according to county and state health orders.
Owner Jonah Ricke said the store handles many products that are sold by retail businesses that are open and considered essential, including food, bottled water, paper towels and cleaning products.
“I disagree with their judgment,” Ricke said in an interview. “Until this is not America, I’m going to keep running my shop.”

Ricke is absolutely correct. Neither the state or county can pick winners and losers by deciding what is an “essential” or “non-essential” business.
Perhaps it is time for all “non-essential” businesses to open their doors again. Coloradans are living under tyranny, and history tells us that rebellion is the only way to stop tyranny.
We are not saying businesses should not practice social distancing and sanitation. COVID-19 is real, and it should be taken seriously.
However, that does not give any government authority the power to ruin livelihoods and careers. Neither Governor Jared Polis, Larimer County, or any other government entity can tell you to shut down.
Orders that should only have been guidelines are being unequally enforced. The cure is becoming worse than the disease. The government at all levels is overreaching in response to COVID-19, and the people and businesses of Colorado are paying the price.
We support any business that chooses to safely defy unconstitutional and overreaching shut down orders.

Good for this business standing up to the government tyranny. The CDC has “revised” its models down several times and is now predicting 60,000 China Virus deaths. The same number the flu killed last year.
Great to see a business with guts to not bow down to this unconstitutional nonsense we need more businesses to do the same! Anyone that is remotely close to this business should go there and support it buy a bottle or water or something (if I were anywhere within driving distance to this place I know I would)!
I guess he was arrested for trying to open the shop. Just saw it on the news. I hope he finds a lawyer willing to take on the County/State. This is unnecessary government bullying.
