Denver, CO – Governor Jared Polis cost taxpayers almost $20,000 on his trip to India. This is according to FOX31 Denver, who reported on the $19,620 taxpayer-funded trade mission.
Admittedly, Polis did cover some of the costs himself. The businesses in attendance also ponied up $3,500 per delegate.
However, his state credit card reportedly malfunctioned.
According to Polis’ officials, the governor had an issue with the state credit card and elected to use his own credit card to pay for his aide and his family’s hotel rooms. Polis was accompanied by his father and son on the trip.

Perhaps it is because Polis and the Democrats in the state legislature overspent in 2019? Jest’s aside, this is quite convenient for Polis, who we expect is scheming with legislators to fleece taxpayers despite them turning down a massive tax hike in the 2019 election.
Polis claims he will not ask for a refund to “save taxpayers money.” More likely than that, he realizes it is bad PR to ask for taxpayers to pay for a multimillionaire’s hotel.
It reportedly took “weeks of back and forth” to get the information on the cost to taxpayers from the Office of Economic Development and International Trade. This comes as no surprise after Polis attempted to censor the media multip times in 2019.
It remains to be seen whether the investment in the trade mission will pay off. Polis thinks it will, but then again, he also thought Colorado could afford his outrageous liberal agenda.

What’s the reason for a trip to India, with his family, that will benefit Colorado??? Just another scammer in “public service” useless scammers….
If Polis really wanted to follow the good example of a gadzillionaire, he’d donate his salary to good works, like Donald Trump does . . .
You get what you vote for. Politicians like this do not mind spending taxpayer funds for any reason. Look at the Denver Mayor when he and his family went to the super bowl on a taxpayer funded vacation. Voters who support clowns like these two have no reason to complain.
