Denver, CO – Nearly $2 million spent for liberal Republicans in primaries should insure 20 point victories over the conservative candidates with mostly grassroots support.
A whopping $883,791.10 of this money is directly from a group funded by Hillary Clinton mega-donor, Kathryn Murdoch. Murdoch is from New York and worked for the Clinton Climate Initiative.
This money started pouring into GOP primaries early, hidden behind the name “Coloradans for Constitutional Values.” It never stopped.
Take a quick look at the spending breakdown by race from the liberal groups versus the conservative groups.
HD 22: Support Larson/Oppose Everett | $ 645,736.64 |
HD 48: Support Van Beber/Oppose Nouis | $ 460,933.76 |
HD 49: Support Lynch/Oppose Marble | $ 461,128.80 |
HD 63: Support Woog/Oppose Miller | $ 345,493.85 |
Total Spent by Liberal Groups: | $ 1,913,293.05 |
HD 22: Support Everett/Oppose Larson | $ 53,378.14 |
HD 48: Support Nouis/Oppose Van Beber | $ 44,540.79 |
HD 49: Support Marble/Oppose Lynch | $ 38,906.66 |
HD 63: Support Miller/Oppose Woog | $ 9,995.33 |
Total by Conservative Groups: | $ 146,820.92 |
Based on the breakdown of the money spent to buy these elections for left-leaning Republicans, the conservative candidates in each race should easily be defeated.
If the groups and consultants handling this nearly $2 million chunk of change are even half-decent at their jobs, they should win by 20 points or more in all four GOP primaries.
Money buys elections – plain and simple.
Of course, primary voting does not close until 7:00 P.M. tonight. So we will not know the official results until sometime after that.
The takeaway for Colorado Republicans is this. Liberal outside groups are spending millions to influence the conservative base of the Colorado Republican Party.
Make no mistake; these groups are being orchestrated by a larger effort to elect Republicans to the left of conservative candidates.
