More Problems at the Colorado Civil Rights Commission

Anti-religious liberty commission called out in audit…

Denver, CO – By now, you’ve probably heard of the discriminatory Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The Commission was made famous by Lakewood Baker Jack Phillips. Jack, who is a Christian, had to go all the way to the Supreme Court to show that the Civil Rights Commission discriminated against him because of his religious beliefs.

To quote Joey Bunch from Colorado politics on the ruling:

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling appeared to be an attempt to decide the case on narrow grounds — the process used by the Civil Rights Commission, which the majority found showed hostility to Phillips’ religious views…

Joey Bunch, Colorado Politics, June 4, 2018

To put it bluntly, the Colorado Civil Rights Commission was, in fact, the discriminatory actor. As with all of the woke issues, the government is always trying to force its view on citizens. The Supreme Court had to remind them that is a no-no because of that pesky First Amendment.

Well, now the Civil Rights Commission is in hot water after the results of an audit were released. Of course, they appear to have no desire to comply. This is a classic politically correct government agency run amok.

Of course, in the 2018 Legislative Session, the Civil Rights Commission almost wasn’t renewed. Unfortunately, some weak-kneed politicians caved on the final day of the legislative session, without getting much via the way of accountability for the Commission.

So the Commission will continue to violate the law. They will continue having closed-door meetings, violating Colorado’s Sunshine Laws. They will continue making discriminatory rulings. There will be no accountability. Let’s see if our liberal legislature will try to fix this in 2020.

Don’t hold your breath.
