Massive Rift in the Colorado Republican Party

Denver, CO – There is a massive rift in the Colorado Republican Party, and it appears to be growing in the Colorado State House.

According to The Denver Post, Representative Hugh McKean (R-Larimer) is attempting to lead an effort to shift the Colorado Republican party to the left.

House Republicans are also taking sides in a primary in Weld County — a fight that has grown to encompass the disagreements over leadership. Rep. Stephen Humphrey of Severance has taken to social media to accuse Rep. Hugh McKean of Loveland of “orchestrating” a campaign to help him vote out Neville. McKean confirmed he is planning to challenge Neville for the caucus leadership next session.

McKean said the House GOP needs a more collaborative approach that allows members to represent their own districts’ views while sticking to four core conservative principles: personal responsibility, small government, fiscal accountability and transparency, and free enterprise.

What McKean means by this is he wants to shift the party to the left. There is no mention of core conservative principles, such as protecting the unborn and defending gun rights. It sounds to us like these values are not a priority for McKean.

His voting record proves his left-leaning tendencies. McKean is so far out of touch with conservative principles he voted to provide driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants and new birth certificates to “transgender” persons.

On top of his poor voting record, sources tell us he is involved with the Hillary Clinton money that is currently flooding into contentious GOP primaries in favor of liberal Republicans. We are currently looking into who is involved in this conspiracy to meddle in Republican primaries.

On the other side is House Minority Leader Patrick Neville, one of the most conservative Republicans in Colorado.

As best as we can understand, Neville has a target on his back simply because he votes for conservative Republican principles and expects his caucus to uphold the GOP platform.

All signs point to McKean dividing the Republican party to shift Republican policy to the left.

What do you think of this growing rift in the Colorado Republican Party?

  1. So, is this Dudley Brown from RMGO/Nevilles’ “news” outlet? It’s interesting how you keep accusing candidates/politicians who aren’t part of the RMGO/Neville political pack of being on the left or funded by Democrat money when RMGO’s SuperPac is dark money. Your news reporting is biased and it’s apparent it’s being used against Republicans who don’t bow to RMGO/Nevilles.

    1. A GOP legislator who votes to give transgenders imaginary birth certificates the opposite of the DNA they have (regardless of what mutilation surgeries they have had) is not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

  2. I think McKean should be expelled from the Republican party for causing divison and failing to uphold the party platform.

  3. I agree with Leslie. He is not a Republican, but a Marxist and needs to identify as such so voters know what they are voting for. I think the Democrats need to identify as marxist as well. Any semblance of American values has been lost by the Democrats.

  4. Republicans, it seems, always has this problem. The Democrats are completely unified-they have people on the left and people who are even further left and when it comes time to vote on an issue it’s always unanimous on the Democrat’s side. Republicans all love to call themselves conservatives, even though many are far enough left to easily make it as a Democrat. I think it’s disgusting, because much of the time the Republican voter is challenged with either voting for a Democrat or voting for a Democrat who claims to be a Republican. Damn, isn’t it possible to find fifty or a hundred people in Colorado willing to run for political office as an unabashed conservative?

  5. McKean is nothing but a coward. Unfit to be associated with any party. Just bend that knee and submit.

  6. This is one reason my family and I switched from Republican voters to Unaffiliated. Once the CO ballot measure passed allowing UA’s to vote in either party’s primary there was no reason to stay a Republican. My guess it this leftist GOPer is a libertarian hiding out in the GOP. Most libertarian party positions are completely contrary to conservative ideology, in fact, they have more in common with the Democrats. This would explain McKean’s voting record.

  7. Knew we should have fled Colorado when they gave licenses and free tuition to illegal migrants so many years back. We’ve been swirling down the bowl ever since. The abuse of Colorado citizens at the hands of migrants continues. And we get the bill. Nobody dares run conservative in CO because all the Colorado hero’s cashed in and moved out over the past 5 years. Colorado, where your vote for president no longer counts, and you are obliged to fund every illegal welfare program imaginable.

  8. If you haven’t watched Rocky Mountain Heist you really should. It’s a real eye opener & this is the plan for turning other red states blue as well (TX and VA – watch out! You’re next!). However, when they started messing with our 2nd amendment they got more than they bargained for. We have what it takes to take back our state. Question is, will enough people wake up and be willing to fight for it?
