Loveland, CO – A Loveland, Colorado shop owner was arrested for keeping his business open after being ordered to close down – allegedly violating multiple orders.
Jonah Ricke, 32, is facing charges of unlawful acts public health act, a class 1 misdemeanor, obstructing government operations, a class 3 misdemeanor and resisting arrest, a class 2 misdemeanor, according to a release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
From: Loveland Reporter-Herald
Ricke owns the One Love smoke shop in Loveland. He claims he is an essential business because his shop sells products deemed essential by Governor Jared Polis’ statewide “Stay at Home” order.
When Ricke was originally ordered to shut down, he had this to say:
“I disagree with their judgment,” Ricke said in an interview. “Until this is not America, I’m going to keep running my shop.”
From: The Coloradoan
Ricke previously said the shop was following social distancing guidelines, keeping things clean, and only allowing shoppers in the store for 15 minutes.
Ricke was reportedly notified by telephone, and after refusing commands not to enter his Loveland shop, he was arrested.
8th Judicial District judge Daniel McDonald issued the order giving police the authority to arrest Ricke after Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Collins Police Services, and the Loveland Police Department initiated the request.
The government is drastically overstepping their authority. These are the actions of a police state, not a government protecting the people and the rule of law.
This is not just a trial run for socialism; it is a trial run for communism in Colorado.

Enough is enough everyone needs to stand up to this unconstitutional police state!
my comments disappeared quickly, why?
Everyone that has been threatened or arrested needs to file a class action suit against the police officers, the police departments, sherrifs, judges and the wannabe El?Supremo Dictator Poly Polis.
They have violated the 1st, 4th, and 14th Amendments to the Constitution.
Sue the crap out of them. These wannabe Gestapo Agents and the Nazi Judges need to be smacked down and hard. The Constitution is the law of the land. The individual police officers, sherrifs deputies took an oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domsetic. Well Poly Polis is an enemy of the Constitution and should be at least sued.
Richard the 2nd comes to mind every time I think of that moron.
He needs to go. Recall or he will destroy the state.
REMEMBER COME NOVEMBER!
This is an Outrage! It is our constitutional right to tune in, turn on and drop out whenever we want!
“Wealth” supersedes and subordinates oath.
Hats off to this young shop owner for refusing to bow to government tyranny. Millions of business owners across Colorado need to re-open their shops and restaurants so they can overwhelm those seeking to destroy freedom in America. The government has no right choosing which businesses may or may not operate under the guise of “essential” or not.
Why are there no mass demonstrations against this – no recall petitions?
