Huge spike in undocumented immigration from Africa

Over 1,100 African immigrants crossed the border illegally this year in the Del Rio Sector. This is according to a July 19 report from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

Illegal border crossings in the sector (including all nationalities) already doubled since this time last year.

For fiscal year 2019 to date, Del Rio Sector’s total apprehensions are in excess of 44,000 illegal immigrants, already more than double the total number of arrests made during the previous fiscal year. All immigrants arrested are medically evaluated and are referred to medical professionals for more advanced care if needed.

Why?… Because our current immigration system is broken.

What’s worse, the majority of Congress, Republicans and Democrats alike, refuse to take action.

Immigrants know they can game the system. They cross the border illegally, claim asylum, and eventually go free on our streets.

Once they are here, they benefit from sanctuary policies such as Colorado’s that protect illegal aliens charged with crimes. Or, they hide out in churches, like the immigrant who is avoiding deportation in Boulder, CO for felony impersonation of an American citizen.

Something must change. But, with statistics that show immigrants are traveling halfway around the world to exploit our broken immigration system, change looks to be far away.

When the benefits for illegally entering the United States include taxpayer-funded legal defense for illegal immigrants facing deportation, we have an enablement problem.

Enablement is nothing new for the Democratic Party. We theorized that the Democrat push for open-borders and services for illegal aliens is just a scheme to draw in a new voter block for the failing political party. Some of these schemes may even lead to illegally cast votes (another deportable offense).

Time To Act

Congress needs to act on the immigration and humanitarian crisis NOW.

Unfortunately, action on the immigration crisis will not come quickly with Congress approaching a long recess. The House recess begins in late July, and the Senate recess begins the first week of August. Neither will return until September 9.

Considering the current state of affairs in our country, we do not find this acceptable.

It is time for Congress to do their jobs. That means protecting American citizens by stopping sanctuary cities and states, securing the border, and ending taxpayer-funded services for illegal aliens.

Perhaps Congress needs to postpone the recess until they fix our immigration system? Why should they be rewarded for continuing to ignore our immigration crisis?
