Amidst all the attacks on our rights and liberties, some good still exists at the Colorado State Capitol.
House Minority Leader Patrick Neville (R-Douglass) is leading an effort to honor fallen teacher, coach, and hero Dave Sanders of Combine High School.
The House Resolution would designate a portion of Colorado State Highway 470 as the “Dave Sanders Memorial highway.”
April 20th marked the 20 year anniversary of Dave Sanders’ efforts to evacuate as many students as possible from Columbine High School.
When Sanders heard shots that day, he rushed to the cafeteria and common areas to warn students.
As events unfolded, Sanders led students out of harm’s way and helped hide them in classrooms. Sanders selflessly gave his life to save countless students.
Such a heroic sacrifice deserves remembrance, and Rep Neville’s resolution is an excellent way to do so.
Remember Dave Sanders and his heroic actions, and remember there is always good to be found in the worst of times.
