Houston, TX – U.S. Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) missed the cut for the third Democratic debate, tonight from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern.
Missed the Cut
Bennet missing the debate is no real surprise. What is a surprise, is that Bennet is still desperately holding on to a failing presidential campaign. Why? We could not tell you.
Bennet failed to make a big enough splash in the second debate. Well, besides Twitter trolls comparing Bennet to Mr. Mackey from South Park, m’kay. To his credit, he did outlast ex-Governor John Hickenlooper who seems a shoo-in for the Democratic nomination to challenge Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO).
Bennet is not alone, however. Montana Governor Steve Bullock, billionaire hypocrite Tom Steyer, Marianne Williamson, and a few others also came up short.
The Debate Stage
The ten candidates who did make the debate stage are as follows:
- Former Vice President Joseph Biden Jr.
- Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
- Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT)
- Mayor Pete Buttigieg
- Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA)
- Andrew Yang
- Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ)
- Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke
- Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
- Former Housing Secretary Julián Castro
We do not expect many of our readers to watch the debate, but we do have a few predictions.
Sanders and Warren will likely square off to differentiate themselves in their race to be the most socialist candidate. Biden, who is fighting accusations of mental decline, will most likely stutter and stumble over another policy point. Look for it in the headlines tomorrow!
O’Rourke, emboldened by his home-state “advantage,” will spout nonsense about immigration policies, demand strict gun control, and otherwise make a further fool of his campaign.
The remaining candidates will do their best but are unlikely to improve their polling. Harris, who averages fourth in the polls, is expected to target Biden to paint herself as the alternative to the establishment Democrat. This may lead to a heated exchange at tonight’s debate (if Biden can keep up).
We would predict a winner, but nobody wins when American politicians are racing towards socialism. Regardless of the outcome, Bennet will not be on stage, and may not be a contender for much longer.
