Aspen, CO – According to parents at an Aspen School District Board of Education meeting, teachers are showing climate change films with apocalyptic predictions to students.
The film was shown to students before and during the climate change strike, where students skipped class to protest. Students across the state, including Aspen and Steamboat Springs, participated.
Specifically, teachers showed students the film “Explorer: Bill Nye’s Global Meltdown,” a National Geographic film. Scientist Guy McPherson claims the world will end in 2030 in the film. That is a whopping 12 years from now.
Teachers who showed the film claim it was intended to create discussion, but we believe it borders on indoctrination. It is absolutely a left-leaning political film, and parents are understandably furious.
“I don’t think anybody here can or will say the Earth is going to end in 12 years,” one parent said. “So why in the hell are we telling these kids that, and basically giving them no reason to live? Why did we have a College Fair last weekend? If that’s the case, there’s no reason to go. We shouldn’t even be here.”

Another parent took an even harder stance, identifying what we believe to be the root of the problem with the climate debate.
“What drives this agenda?” one parent asked. “What is the true agenda? Is the agenda really climate change? I’d say no. The agenda is against capitalism. Climate change is a way to get there, to fight capitalism and get to the socialist narrative. Why are the teachers driving this? What is their agenda?”

There is an increasingly clear connection between the debate on climate change and socialist politics. Just look at AOC’s “Green New Deal” and the politicians who support it.
If someone does not agree with climate activists, they are wrong. There is little to no discussion wanted or allowed by these hardcore activists. They would instead force their political ideology on people and make them pay for it as well.
This is nothing new. But we do wonder, how does this climate catastrophe propaganda negatively affect our children?
