Denver, CO – Let’s wade into the issue of race. We fully expect the liberal left’s collective heads to explode after reading this article. We’re just waiting to be called racists, and have us labeled as a hate group spewing hate speech after writing this article. Game on! We’re doing this!
One of the more potentially dangerous bills of the 2020 Legislative session is HB20-1048 titled Race Trait Hairstyle Anti-discrimination Protect. The bill summary as it reads now:
The bill specifies that, for purposes of anti-discrimination laws in the context of public education, employment practices, housing, public accommodations, and advertising, protections against discrimination on the basis of one’s race includes traits historically associated with race, such as hair texture, hair type, and protective hairstyles.
Text from HB20-1048
If you read the bill itself (we did), this mainly applies to the following:
- Schools, with a focus on charter schools
- Public school teacher employment
- Public accommodation (broad definition under the federal American Disabilities Act)
- State employee hiring and promotion
The effective use of this law with be a treasure trove of lawsuits. Anyone who doesn’t get hired, get a promotion, qualify for housing (credit is usually the determining factor here), will be able to sue. There are also more protections for the teachers who are next to impossible to fire, and more regulation for the charter schools that most Democrats hate.
The bill is a classic behavior modification that creates protected classes based on race and how they look. No one should be surprised when Democrats like to race-bait and convince every snowflake out there that they are a victim.
Remember how we were going to get in trouble in the first paragraph? Let’s take a quick look at the pictures from the bill’s Prime Sponsors:
We see a little bit of hypocrisy here. Each State Legislator in the picture has a degree, was able to rent or buy a house or apartment, and has achieved some level of success – WITHOUT THIS LAW!
What this bill really does is help the classic constituencies that fund Democrats. Predominately trial lawyers and teacher’s unions. Trial lawyers will have more ability to sue. Teacher’s union members will be able to get more promotions. Also, Teachers’ unions hate Charter Schools, and this bill regulates them as well.
HB20-1048 isn’t as much about race as it is about paying off supporters. Shame on Democrats!
