Boulder, CO – We hate to beat a dead horse, but much like our readers, this issue really enrages us. We have the rule of law for a reason, and we hate when politicians thumb their noses at it.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis seems to be taking his radical liberal Boulder values to new extremes when it comes to the issue of people in our country illegally. Last week we wrote about this and how Polis weighed in on DACA.
Now, we see he is going a few steps farther. First (this is a little dated), illegal immigrants can now get driver’s licenses. This legitimizes the act of being in this country illegally. It’s pretty much a punch in the face to those of us that follow the law.
To add insult to injury, Polis created another new program to help illegal immigrants. Specifically, Polis created a new group called the “New Americans Initiative.” This office will advise the governor and explore the hurdles to Colorado’s immigrant population. As we noted in our last article about this issue, Polis considers illegal immigrants American citizens.
So what is this new initiative going to help with? From Colorado Politics:
Kit Taintor, Polis’s senior advisor for new American integration, will examine hurdles to success for Colorado’s immigrant population and identify legislative or administrative fixes…“Removing barriers immigrants and refugees face from access to childcare, to occupational licensing and education, will make Colorado a welcoming and prosperous place for New Americans,” said Taintor in a statement.

So this initiative is meant to drive legislation that helps criminal activity. Does anyone else see something seriously wrong with this initiative?
We like [sarcasm] how the author points out that some other states do similar things. However, this is a classic liberal justification for their policies: “Well, other people are doing it, so it makes it okay.” The author also gives lip service to potential opposition:
In Nevada a bill to create such an office passed the Nevada legislature in May. However, opponents worried that the initiative would reward or encourage undocumented immigration.

Yeah, “opponents worried,” of course. They worried because encouraging illegal immigration is exactly what it will do. Also, this ignores the fact that we should not be helping those who blatantly break our laws! Especially to the point where they get special status and services not provided for law-abiding citizens.
But the law does not matter to Jared Polis or his fellow Democrats. Why should we be surprised?
This is the world we live in, folks.

Polis. That’s NOT following the constitution. We pay your salary!
Time for a recall!
