Centennial, CO – We must have a Republic citizens can trust here in the United States. Election integrity is an important part of this, and many election officials go to great lengths to get it right while filtering out the partisanship. Then there’s the Arapahoe County Clerk, a Democrat who upset an excellent Republican County Clerk in the 2018 Democrat wave.
Not only did the new Clerk give Democrats the right information on when ballots were being mailed out, but she also botched sending replacement ballots out. This may have affected many races in Arapahoe County, namely in the City of Aurora.
The Mayor and City Council races in Aurora are so close, every vote counted. Now, there were “Republicans” on the ballot – but as you know, we’re “conservatives” here at the Colorado Citizens Press, and the terms “Republican” and “conservative” can be mutually exclusive, especially in these city races.
With that said, we still value fair and open elections. We think it’s legitimate to call into question some of the actions of the Arapahoe County Clerk. But first, here is a video from 9News to prime the pump:
So, here’s our beef, aside from her obvious incompetence, she did a few bad things (and the evidence is courtesy of the Colorado GOP). Clearly, she fumbled and pivoted on the partisanship question in the video. This seems pretty shady to us.
Then, she misprinted when ballots would be sent on the election calendar. This is important because it affects when candidates start their mail programs, TV, radio, robocalls – all their voter contact programs. If you start too late, you can lose a race. If your opponent has better info than you do, that is a clear advantage.
So when the Clerk posted the election calendar with this information – it was wrong. Was this on purpose? Good question – because she let her fellow Democrats know it was wrong. Republicans? Not so much.
Then as 9News reports, many voters didn’t get their replacement ballots until election day. What’s a replacement ballot? When your ballot is spoiled, namely, there’s a problem with it, you can request a new ballot. Your other one, if voted, is null and void.
An example of this is when the Post Office destroys your ballot in the mailing process. Citizens are entitled to vote, so we want to count their votes. This is problematic when voters get their replacement ballots that are supposed to be mailed eight days before the election (if you’re within that window, you can vote in person).
So why were these replacement ballots tardy? They were printed and mailed from…Seattle…Yes, in the State of Washington! And they used low priority bulk postage!
The ballots were printed and mailed from Seattle on Oct. 29, one week before the election. According to Rupert, the Arapahoe and Denver County clerks paid for the lowest priority mail, so those ballots were delivered by truck and arrived in Denver on Friday, Nov. 1.

We’re pretty sure printers are available in Colorado, so outsourcing to Seattle doesn’t make sense. Clearly, this can cause problems, and it did.
Something we find strange, and insert your “Main Stream Media” rant here…is that 9News bends over backward to tell us that this did not affect the outcome of the election. We say baloney! It obviously affected the outcome of the election. Some of these races are (were) within a couple of hundred votes.
Elections matter folks, and the people that run them must be competent and have integrity. We didn’t see it in Arapahoe County.
We’ll botch a quote often attributed to mass murderer Soviet Dictator Josef Stalin here: “it doesn’t matter who votes, what matters is who counts the votes!”
We both disagree and agree with Stalin. But hopefully, Arapahoe County can right the ship before the 2020 election.

This woman is corrupt and Arapahoe County elected official owe their voters a criminal investigation of her. Where is the Republican Party on this matter. Why are Colorado Republican politicians not screaming from the highest rooftops about this matter. How come no one is ever charged when they obviously disenfranchise Conservative and Republican voters in elections? We have seen this story repeat itself over and over yet the wimpy Republicans refuse to call thes people out.
Why you ask? Because Democrats/liberals act this way and Republicans/conservatives do not. We, unfortunately, assume people do the job they are elected to do and do it right and honestly. Leftists do not care HOW they win, just that they win. Time for Repubs/Conservatives to question EVERYTHING or these aholes will continue pulling these stunts until we really don’t have a voice anymore. Get with it!!
