In our new segment, Nanny State Bill of the Week, we will highlight bills in the legislature that enable the nanny state to control more aspects of your life.
HB19-1033, Local Governments May Regulate Nicotine Products. Sponsored by Reps Kerry Tipper and Chris Kennedy, and Senators Rhonda Fields and Kevin Priola.
This bill authorizes counties to enact additional regulations against the purchase and use of nicotine products. This can include increased taxes on top of the already high state taxes, and can also increase the age of purchase and use to 21.
So at 18, if you want to enlist, travel to the other side of the world, get shot at and potentially die for your country, you better take that pinch of dip out of your mouth, because you’re too young to make that kind of decision.
