Our Brief on Colorado and the Environment

Admittedly, we missed this last month, so it’s being incorporated into this larger article on the enviros in the state, and where we see the facts don’t necessarily match up.

The news we missed was US Senator Michael Bennet sponsoring a bill that forced companies to assess their “Climate Change Role,” and report it to investors.

If you know anything about financial disclosure to stockholders, this means the information would be public. It’s Bennet’s weak attempt into “Climate Change Shaming” for businesses. Luckily the Republican-controlled Senate will not let this live to see the light of day.

But there’s a weird thing happening in Colorado – a decline in greenhouse gases (commonly blamed for this “Climate Change”). Editors note: do you remember when this was called “Global Warming,” why the rebranding by the left? We’re guessing science and statistics maybe didn’t back their claim, you can opine in the comments.

Where did we get this information on the decline of greenhouse gases in Colorado? The Colorado Department of Health and the Environment via Colorado Politics. Yes, the department run by our Boulder Liberal Governor’s appointee. So it must be credible…or not!

So why the legislation from Bennet and how does this benefit Colorado? Well, it doesn’t. Bennet doesn’t benefit Colorado either, and he probably won’t make the debate stage for the Democratic presidential primary in September.

But hey, the feds like to stick their nose in our business. Now, because of a policy change with our Governor, the feds are STILL going to crack down on Colorado even though the population boomed and air quality improved.

Because of Metro Denver’s unique geography, we’re at a disadvantage when it comes to air quality. The mountains basically trap and drum up the pollution. So, because of our unique situation, Colorado has always sought a waiver with the feds on Air Quality. Well, our Governor has decided NOT to seek that waiver. This could cost us a ton of money in transportation funding, and that’s fine because we don’t need the money – our roads are awesome [sarcasm]!

What should be your takeaway from this article? Well, the Democrat’s policies are horrible and hurt Colorado. But you already knew that if you read our stories regularly.
