Hickenlooper May Be Moving Towards Running For Colorado Senate

Steps were taken for a Hick Senate run; we’re not sure if it will happen…

Former Brew-master Hicklooper (FYI, Hick was Governor, and is sort-of running for President), repeatedly claimed he has no interest in running for the US Senate in Colorado.

However, as we’ve written about (HERE), (HERE), (HERE), (HERE), (HERE) and (HERE), the whole presidential campaign thing has become more of a joke. In fact, the best press Hick received is from satire website, The Onion (apparently we cover him a lot as well – low hanging fruit!). We didn’t write about this one, but The Onion also lampooned Hick here as well.

So we came across this little gem yesterday on Twitter, a retweet from local snarky (we like snark) 9News anchor Kyle Clark:

We thought the guy is running for President!

Is this proof-positive that Hick is running for US Senate? No. Is the registered agent on the domain, part of a firm that supports Hick? Yes. Can we infer from his staff’s actions, who quit the campaign and said Hick should drop out and run for Senate, that he may consider switching races? After his lackluster second debate performance, yes.

In our humble opinion, Hick did himself a disservice running for President if he wants to be the next US Senator from Colorado. Not only are there soundbites out there that he doesn’t want the job, but he was also exposed as milquetoast to many people that would support him in Colorado. Hick built a myth for himself in Colorado as a cool guy. Combined with some blind luck, a good ad team, and the usual GOP mistake machine, he won Governor’s races twice.

We’re not promoting Cory Gardener here, but Cory is a much more adept campaigner and politician than a Dan Maes or Bob Beauprez. So the question remains, will Hick’s Colorado luck finally end. Stay tuned to find out!
