Obligatory Galindo replacement story

We’ve spilled a bit of ink over ultra-liberal, potential sexual assaulter, and former State Representative, Rochelle Galindo. Galindo took the coward’s way out and resigned her seat so the Dems could appoint another liberal in her place. She knew she would be recalled and replaced with a Republican that could represent the district.

Well, as this works in Colorado, a small group of Dem insiders met in secrecy and selected a replacement. Who you might ask? Well, it’s the wife of Former State Representative (and now State Treasurer) Dave Young. There’s nothing like a little nepotism…her name is Mary Young by the way.

To the political hacks out there this may make sense on paper, because a “Young” has high name identification in the district, and probably won’t have a hard time fundraising.

Except there’s one little problem…Galindo’s replacement also would have voted for SB 181, the oil and gas industry killing bill that emerged from the last legislative session. From the article:

Sunday, Mary Young “said she believes the oil and gas industry will continue to be viable in the area, adding she didn’t see in Senate Bill 181 any restrictions that were going to have a negative impact on the industry,” the Tribune reported.

Hopefully, Republicans in the House will help the newly appointed Representative figure out where she stands on the 2nd Amendment, Life, TABOR, School Choice, Sanctuary Cities, and other important issues.

Only time will tell, but this seat should be a pick-up for the GOP in 2020.
